Its very important that puppy players remember that they will not be puppies forever. Wolf pups grow fast, and develop even faster, and your roleplay needs to show that.
Below is a behavioral/developmental timeline. Keep in mind that pups age in real time here - So its important to follow the timeline.
Birth-10 Days: Puppies are blind, deaf and have no teeth. Their ears are still plastered down to their skulls and are limited in their movements. At this stage, they can only squeel, yip and whine. They are fully dependent on their mothers for warmth and comfort.
10-13 days: Eyes begin to open but vision is blurry and unclear. They can identify shapes and some colors but everything sort of meshes together. Newborn eyes are a dark, milky blue color and will change as they get older. With the ability to see, they are also more curious and can begin moving around a bit more, mostly just toppling over one another and shuffling alongside their mother.
3 weeks: Pups can hear at three weeks of age and now sharp little milk teeth begin to break through. This causes a lot of discomfort and thus pups will chew on things... mostly each other, rocks ect. At this point they can also explore most of the den and toddle around, though unbalanced. Pups can now go for a period of time without their mother directly with them.
4 weeks: Now the real fun begins! Pups are able to leave the den at four weeks old and are a bit more sturdy on their feet. At this stage they can also begin "baby talk" short one, to two word sentences as well as wolfspeak such as howling, growling and barking. At this stage, they will also begin supplementing their mothers milk with bits of meat. Pups become more aware of the socail hierarchy of the pack and begin to form one among themselves.
5-8 weeks: Pups eat more and more meat and less milk and the mother will begin reducing nursing at this point and while they still have a bit of "baby talk" such as perhaps a lisp or incorrect grammar "Dun" " Nu" "Eats" stuff like that, they can effectively communicate.
4-7 months: Pups begin to loose their milk teeth, are completely weaned off of milk and fully carnivores at this point. They can speak properly at this point and are preparing for life as an adult wolf. They can begin accompanying adults on hunts and training to hunt.
1 Year: Pups are initiated as adult members of the pack and may attend their first hunt.
